The heart and the stomach are like kin, they are of the same blood.
The heart feeds and nurtures the stomach. The stomach sustains and protects the heart like a guardian.
They grow old together and share in many things.
Mostly, they move to the same beat, the same pulse.
But at times, in this journey where the steps of our feet take us to places unexplored, AT times, the heart goes one way, and the stomach stays put. Or the stomach wants to go right, and the heart will refuse.
This is heart burn of another variety, a stomach ache that resonates from a deeper place.
But I believe that for those who seek a stronger core, the heart will beat harder to find its kin. The stomach will churn with renewed courage to follow the beats of its brethren.
And they will be as one once again.
Stronger for their separation.
May my heart beat
May my stomach churn
To the same pulse.
The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and though all its parts are many, they form one body. So it is with Christ.
