10 Lessons Learned

  1. There’s a worm that lives in the beating apple of my chest. And this worm spits honey out of its mouth with no regard for the beating apples of others. Here in my hands is my apple, succulent red on the outside, eaten up on the inside.
  2. Sometimes the words “care” and “withdraw” mean the same things.
  3. The more you think you’ve got things figured out, things figure you for a fool.
  4. It’s heartbreaking to lend treasure out. Instead, buy it, write a little inscription, and give it away to be loved by someone else.
  5. When every day in your life is new, you extend your life by a measure of “Man, what a long day…”
  6. Conversations exist on wavelengths. If two are gathered in faith, God emerges. If two are gathered on a wavelength, Truth emerges.
  7. Honesty and kindness are good things.  But if you ride them out all the way with the tide, you will become a beached whale of a jackass.
  8. The grass is always greener on the other side.  That is, until you learn how to walk to the other side.
  9. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud…
  10. Sports fans and masochists share at least one thing in common.
